They say “fortune favors the bold,” but in my house on the day of a Lunar Eclipse, fortune looks a lot like a chaotic mix of snow days, sweaty sweaters, and the absolute magic of electional astrology.

I recently had the incredible honor of recording an episode of the Spiritual Journey Podcast with the wonderful Nimesh and Stacey. It was an hour and fifteen minutes of cosmic deep-diving, but getting there? That was a journey in itself.

The Cosmic Blueprint

I’m a big believer in being a co-creator with the universe, so when I saw the recording schedule, I intentionally aimed for a Tuesday. Why? Because it’s Mars Day. I knew I needed that fiery, decisive edge to take action, even though I was staring down the barrel of a Mercury Retrograde and the intense energy of the eclipse.

I wanted to use the planets to my advantage, leveraging the retrograde energy to look back at my childhood and my long history with the Moon and Saturn. But, as Mercury often does, it decided to “help” by throwing a few curveballs:

  • The Gear: I bought a new microphone and, in true retrograde fashion, had almost zero time to test it.
  • The Tech: Stacey’s camera froze right at the start, forcing a quick exit and re-entry.
  • The Timing: Nims was running a few minutes late.

The Snow Day Shuffle

As if the planets weren’t enough, Mother Nature decided to join the party. The night before, the forecast called for snow and ice. My “quiet recording studio” (also known as my house) was suddenly threatened by a remote learning day.

Instead of a peaceful sanctuary, I was looking at a full house of kids. Thankfully, my husband, Matt, is a saint—he postponed his train into the city to keep the kids contained and whisked the dog off to daycare so I could focus.

The “Deer in Headlights” Moment

During the recording, the nerves were real. I’m talking “sweat dripping under my sweater” real. At one point, I was mid-explanation—probably something profound about the language of the stars—and my brain just… blanked.

I had to awkwardly admit, “I have no idea what point I was making.”

There were about ten seconds of dead air where I felt like a deer in headlights. But then, the connection returned, the point came back, and I finished strong. I’m currently sending a little prayer to the podcast editors to work their magic on that “brain fart,” but I’m also reminding myself: focusing on that one little screw-up only amplifies the negative. ### Being Lifted Up The highlight of the entire experience was the sheer warmth from Nimesh and Stacey. Having Stacey—whose experience and insight I hold in such high regard—proclaim such kind things about the reading I gave her was overwhelming in the best way possible. Their energy truly lifted me up and gave me the courage to share my mission.

I don’t want people to feel like they need three years of intense study to “get” astrology. My goal is to hand this beautiful language to you in a way that is immediate and transformative. I want you to look at the Moon and see yourself reflected there, right now, without the homework.

Breathing Through the Aftermath

Now that it’s over, I’ll admit I’m in that post-recording haze. Did I answer clearly? Was my voice annoying? Did I make sense? Deep breath. Grounding breath. The Mars energy gave me the courage to show up, and the Spirit team handled the rest. It was a day of disruptions, technical hiccups, and icy roads, but it was also a day of profound connection. I am so grateful for the opportunity to share the message of the cosmos, “brain farts” and all.

Stay tuned for the episode—hopefully, it’s more “cosmic wisdom” and less “frozen camera”!
